Shell Operation technician vacancy

1. Operation Technician Operations

• Intensive on the job training will be provided. 
• Ability to work in shifts (3 cycle; 8 hours shift) is required. Position incumbent will report to the Shift Team Leader.

General Responsibilities:
• Performs under supervision the normally occurring operational (incl. sampling and testing of process monitoring samples) and relevant non-operational activities and under varying operational circumstances (normal operation, start-up/shut down ect.)
• Performs certain engineering work (when time is available) , such as , but not limited to , the insertion/withdrawal of spades , turning of spectacle binds ,cleaning of filters , changing of valves , lubrication of e.g. valves , pumps and motors , remedying.
• Assesses deviations in the functioning of process and equipment. Takes action, after consultation with more experienced colleagues, bearing in mind possible consequences for other parts of the work area.
• Identifies possible problems with regard to safety, health, the environment and quality at the earliest possible stage and, after consultation with senior colleagues, takes action accordingly.
• Interprets results of analysis and, if necessary, adjust plant conditions on the basis thereof, on the instruction of senior colleagues.
• Sees to and contributes to good housekeeping in and around the relevant parts of the plant.
• Looks after the monitoring of the conditions of process equipment 
• Contributes to a correct, safe and timely availability of equipment and instrumentation to be submitted for repair and assists in their testing and commissioning after delivery to Operations.

Requirements:
• Minimum Diploma in any Engineering discipline OR SPM with professionally recognised engineering certificate.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Preferably a minimum 2 years of working experience in manufacturing environment
• Possess high regards for Health, Safety and Environment
